Pierre Joppen (1956) started his company Paulus Swaen old Maps and Prints,Inc. in 1978 in the Netherlands. For almost 25 years he 's been dealing with fine antique maps of all parts of the world, atlases and globes. He produced many catalogues.
Pierre Joppen is one of the pioneers in the Internet business.
Since 1996 he started to produce his catalogues on the Internet and a mapauction division was added at that year.
In february 2002 he joined a Panel Discussion "The Map Trade in Cyberspace" at the Miami International Mapfair.
